Introduction

Below is an index, alphabetized by surname, of all people mentioned on all documents transcribed (including white men and women who were the apprentice masters or clerks of county court, etc.). Names are listed with the county the record was located in and then a link to the document using a number for each document they are mentioned on. I will also include names mentioned in blog posts with the link to thee specific post they appear in. The list of names has become rather long over the years and so I have created a navigational menu below. A, B, C, etc. Click on the letter for the surname you are looking for and it will go to that point in the list. Example, if you are looking for Pettiford, you can click on P and it will take you to the beginning of the P surnames.
